June 11, 1921 --- December 8, 2011

Margaret (Christensen) Bennett, 90, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Saint Francis Hospital. She was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, on June 11, 1921, to James and Winnie (Hovey) Christensen. Margaret trained as a nurse at the University of Iowa where she met and married Dr. Howard A. Bennett, also of Iowa. They relocated to Oklahoma and raised their family there. Margaret loved her children, her PEO sisters, her gardening, and had many, many best friends. She was a talented cook, seamstress, and homemaker. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Howard “Buzz” Bennett Jr. of Tulsa, Barbara (Bennett) Hubbell of Osage Beach, Missouri, Nancy (Bennett) Classen of Tulsa; granddaughter Amanda (Bennett) Wilburn of Tulsa; and great-granddaughter Olivia Wilburn of Tulsa. Margaret loved to demonstrate her green thumb, read and expand her knowledge of the world, and travel with her husband and friends. Margaret will be interred with her husband of 62 years, Dr. Howard Bennett. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, 3:00 PM in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Donations may be made to St. Francis Hospice in her memory.
