Celia J. (Harris) Day, 93, of Clarion passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 at Careage of Clarion. Funeral services for Celia Day will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Zion Church of the Nazarene, 1010 Second Street South West, in Clarion with Pastor Dana Wendel officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 from 12:30 – 2:00 PM at the Zion Church of the Nazarene, 1010 Second Street South West, in Clarion.

Celia Jane Harris was born November 13, 1918 on a farm in Hamilton County, the daughter of Jeremiah James and Linnie May (Teater) Harris. She was educated in Hamilton and Wright County Schools. Celia was united in marriage to Ethan Day on December 24, 1936. They farmed for many years, moving to Clarion in 1960. Celia enjoyed gardening, canning, and sewing. She treasured her time with family and friends.

Celia is survived by six children: James Day of Clarion, Janet Neese of Clarion, Richard Day of Algona, Betty (Bob) Schaffer of Clarion, David (Mary) Day of Oklahoma, and Gary (Candy) Day; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. Celia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ethan; sisters Florence Avery and Dorothy Graham; brothers Ottis Harris, John Harris, Walter Harris and Emmett Harris; one grandson Glen Day and great-granddaughter-in-law Brianna Becthold.
