Melvin L. Neuberger was born in Butler County, Iowa on April 1, 1904, the son of Lewis and Sena (Luger) Neuberger. As a youth he received his elementery education in Butler County and later in Hancock County. He and the family moved to Klemme in 1914. On August 23, 1931 he was united in marriage to Millie Halverson at St. Ansgar, Iowa and together they had made their home in Klemme. Mr. Neuberger had been in the hardware business in Klemme for over 35 years.
Mr. Neuberger passed away on Wednesday evening, December 14 at the Belmond Community Hospital. He had been in ill health for only three weeks. Surviving are his wife: Millie; Two children: Elaine, Mrs. Valere Nelson, Forest City; Allan Neuberger, Pico Riveria, California. Also surviving are 2 brothers and 1 sister: Donald Neuberger of Clear Lake; Mrs. Pearl Lemke of Klemme; Lester Neuberger of Klemme. A half-sister: Mrs. Cora Hippen of LuVerne; Surviving too, are 4 grandchildren: Patricia, Jeffrey and Sally Nelson; Paige Neuberger; He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Mrs. Lulu Hoffman.
