October 6, 1940 – October 3, 2011

Pastor Paul Allen Peebler, age 70, of Boone, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Banner Thunderbird Hospital in Glendale, Arizona. Following cremation, Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2011 at the First Baptist Church at 612 8th Street in Boone with Pastor Jerry Bertelson officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the family present at the church from 10:00 a.m. to time of service at 11:00 a.m. Full Military Honors will be conducted the Boone Veterans Council at the Veterans Monument and United States Flag in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone. Disposition of the cremains will be at a later date.

Paul was born on October 6, 1940 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of John William and Eva Pauline (Haney) Peebler. Paul grew up in Fairfield,Iowa and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1959. He then entered the U.S. Army. After returning from service, he attended Southwestern College, Phoenix, Arizona Seminary School; Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and was a postgraduate from N.E. Missouri State University in Kirksville, Missouri. He later taught middle school at Horace Mann Middle School in Burlington, and then taught at Phillips Middle School in Ft.Dodge. While teaching, he was pastoring at the Mineral Ridge Baptist Church, Ridgeport and the Baptist Church,Burnside,Iowa. He was then a pastor at First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove,Iowa and the First Baptist Church, Renwick, Iowa. He was a lay pastor at First Baptist Church in Boone, Iowa.

On August 11, 1978, Paul married Deborah Rae Hansen in Long Grove, Iowa. Paul was a member of the First Baptist Church in Boone and while living in Arizona he attended the North Mountain Church in Glendale. He enjoyed photography, reading, traveling, and ministering to others.

Paul was preceded in death his parents, (daughter) Michelle, and (son) Michael. Surviving Paul is his wife, Debbie R. Peebler of Burnside, Iowa; his six children, Scott Webster of Long Grove, Iowa; his daughter, Jennifer Staggs of Davenport, Iowa; his daughter, Melanie R. Peebler of Boone, Iowa; his son, Mark, (Holly) Peebler, of Boone, Iowa; his son, Nathan, (Jennifer) Peebler of Boone, Iowa; his daughter, Joni, (Justin) Marshall, of Ames, Iowa; his 18 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. His brother, David, (Carol) Peebler, of Fairfield, Iowa; his sister, Alma Del Shearer of Weeping Water, Nebraska also survive Paul. Memorials may be sent to the Peebler family at P.O. Box 62, Burnside,Iowa 50521. Walter ~ Schroeder Funeral Home at Fifth & Story Streets in Boone is in charge of the arrangements.
