Marvyl N. Reichter, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Peterson) Harvey, was born on the family farm in Humboldt County on September 16, 1912. Marvyl attended country schools in Humboldt County, graduating in 1930 from Goldfield High School. Marvyl was married to Verven Reichter on September 21, 1930, at the Baptist Parsonage in Goldfield. Verven preceded her in death on July 2, 1998. She was a member of the DELL Club, helped start congregate meals in Goldfield, active in Farm Bureau Women's Work; and held various offices in American Baptist Women. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting and gardening. Marvyl was active in Goldfield Baptist Church until it closed in 1950 and later the Renwick Baptist Church.
Marvyl passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at Careage of Clarion at age of 99 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Marvin; grandson Bryan; sisters, Helen Bjorklund, Charlotte Harvey and Alice Vest and brothers, Howard Harvey and Merle Harvey. Survivors are her children: Beryl Reichter and wife Dorothy of Goldfield, Jean Gillespie and husband Kenneth of Kansas City, MO; Arlo and wife Dianne of Elm Grove, Wisconsin and daughter-in-law, Janet Reichter of Altoona; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
