October 18, 1953 --- December 13, 1974

Mark Lee Grove, son of Percy and Carol Grove of Britt, Iowa, passed away Friday evening, December 13, 1974 due to and automobile accident north of Kanawha, Iowa on Highway 111. He was born on October 18, 1953 at Webster City, Iowa and was 21 years, 1 month and 25 days of age at the time of his death. He had been a resident of the Britt area for 14 years. Mark was baptized and confirmed in the christian faith and was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Britt. He was a member of the Luther League and had served as its president. He received his education in the Britt schools, graduating with the class of 1972, He was active in school activities including F.F.A. for 4 years and had served as its treasurer. He was in mixed chorus for 3 years, was a soloist and in an ensemble group. He was a member of the wrestling team for a year. He was presently employed by the Farmers Cooperative Elevator of Britt.

Mark is survived by his parents, Percy and Carol Grove of Britt, Ia,; 2 brothers, Tim and Willard, at home; 2 sisters, Paula, at home and Catherine, attending Waldorf College in Forest City, Ia.; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Henry Claussen of Gilmore City, Ia.; aunts and uncles and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Henry Claussen.
