BOONE - Keith W. Hellman, 67, of 815 West 6th Street in Boone, Iowa, passed away Monday morning, September 26, 2011 at his home. Keith was born on September 2, 1944 in Perry, Iowa, the son of Thorsten and Winifred (Hight) Hellman. On October 27, 1972, he married Pat Cazett at the Methodist Church in Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Keith graduated from YJB High School in Jamaica, Iowa in 1962. He served in the Army from 1963 to 1966. While living in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Keith worked in the gypsum mill. He later moved to Boone and in 1990 began working as a postal clerk at the Post Office until his retirement in 2010. He was a member of the Jamaica Union Church in Jamaica, Iowa and the 2nd Amendment NRA Task Force. Keith was a professional archer and the 1973 National Indoor Archery Champion. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving both hunting and fishing.

His parents; stepdaughter Kathy Foster; brother Charles Hellman; and a special aunt Ruth Hellman preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Pat of Boone; 2 stepsons Kenny Riedesel of Fort Dodge, Iowa and Kevin Riedesel and wife Virginia of Indianola, Iowa; 2 stepgrandchildren Matthew and Andrew Ferren of Jamaica, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles. Following Keith's wishes his body has been cremated. No services are planned at this time. Those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their gift to the family.
