Funeral services for Anna B. Nordbo, 74, who died at her home in Eagle Grove Wednesday, December 2, were held Saturday, December 5 at Eagle Grove with the Rev. Kenneth Torvik officiating and here at First Lutheran church with the Rev. Don R. Hamilton officiating. Anna Bertina Nordbo was born in St. Ansgar, Iowa July 31, 1885, the daughter of Aadne and Bertha (Syverude) Nordbo, and was baptized in the First Lutheran church by the Rev. Johan Olsen. At the age of nine she moved with her parents to Eagle Grove. She received her education at St. Ansgar, Eagle Grove and Cedar Falls. She taught school at St. Ansgar, Radcliffe and Thor. Then she taught in Children's Homes at Beloit, Wisconsin Muscatine, Iowa, Staughton, Wisconsin, and Chicago. She retired to her home in Eagle Grove about nine years ago, and had always been an ardent church worker. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister. She is survived by five cousins; Mrs. Albert Hegg, Mrs. Tilda Berge and Mrs. Ellen Gisleson of Osage and Henry and Edgar Syverude of Dagmar, Montana and a host of friends. Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Hamilton in charge of committal services.
