Armin W. H. Passehl, 90, Latimer, died August 28, 2011. He was born December 14, 1920, in rural Latimer, the youngest child of Edward and Martha (Meyer) Passehl. He married Viola Larsen on October 1, 1941 in Alexander. He was the third generation on the family’s Century Farm. He was preceded in death by his brother Howard; sisters Irma Yakel and Bernice Dreyer; and son-in-law Verle Hackbarth. He is survived by his wife of Latimer; son Gordon (Denise) Passehl of Latimer; and daughter Jeanne Hackbarth of Waterloo.

Armin W. H. Passehl, 90, of Latimer, Iowa, passed away August 28, 2011, at the Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa. He was born December 14, 1920, in rural Latimer, Iowa, the youngest child of Edward and Martha (Meyer) Passehl. Armin attended rural country schools in Franklin County. He married Viola Larsen on October 1, 1941, in Alexander, Iowa. Armin became the third generation farmer on what became a Century Farm which his grandfather started in 1901. He was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer. Armin also enjoyed trucking when he had time. He never saw a stranger that he didn't make time to visit with. Armin had a hello wave and happy greeting for everyone. He was very helpful, sometimes making picture frames and assisting with the Latimer history. Armin & Viola wintered in Texas for 30 years where they made many friends. He is survived by his wife Viola Passehl of Latimer, son Gordon (Denise) Passehl of Latimer, daughter Jeanne Hackbarth of Waterloo, grandchildren Tracy Pavelka, Becky Kirschbaum and Brandon Moon and seven great grandchildren. Armin was preceded in death by his parents, brother Howard, sisters Irma Yakel and Bernice Dreyer and his son-in-law Verle Hackbarth, Armin will be dearly missed but he left many happy memories along life's journey. Burial will be in the Marion Center Cemetery rural Latimer, Iowa.
