Johnston, Iowa --- Clarice J. Crum was born on January 19, 1912 in Wright County, Holmes, Iowa to Gudman and Julia Jergensen. She attended grade school in Dayton Township in Wright County, Iowa and graduated from Clarion Iowa High School in 1931. She graduated from AIB in Des Moines and worked for the State of Iowa, as a Stewardess, at the Women's Reformatory in Rockwell City, Iowa. Clarice returned to Des Moines to live, when she married Ralph Crum of Des Moines in 1940. Clarice retired from the Credit Department of Ginsbergs Furniture Store, where she worked for over 40 years. Clarice was Past President of the Credit Women's International of Des Moines and a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Des Moines.

Clarice died on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center, where she lived. She was 99. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph K. Crum; her parents Gudman and Julia Jergensen; seven brothers and six sisters. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews and their families.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Our Lady of Peace Chapel, Bishop Drumm in Johnston. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Chapel. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be directed to Bishop Drumm or Immanuel United Methodist Church.

Don't grieve for me - I will be in good care. Smile, laugh and enjoy one another, is my wish. I've had a great life and a Great Family in all.
