Marv Wolfgram, 88, of Webster City, died Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Southfield Wellness Community. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 22, 11:00 am, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Luncheon will follow in the Parish Center, and burial will be at the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Clarion at 2:00 pm. A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary to begin at 6:45 p.m.

Marvel Garden Wolfgram son of Albert and Mildred Garden Wolfgram was born on February 2, 1923 in Sumner, Iowa. He attended rural schools in the Sumner area, graduating from Sumner High School in 1939. He attended 1 year at Iowa State University and also attended A.I.B. in Des Moines. Following his education, he worked for Chicago District Electric Generating Corp. On March 2, 1943 he entered the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. Following his honorable discharge, he married Donna Corkery, on August 9, 1948. The couple resided in Sumner where he helped his father operate the family filling station. Marv later owned Clover Farm Grocery in Sumner for 18 years, and sold real estate for one year prior to entering a career as an insurance agent for Farm Bureau Insurance in Jefferson and Boone, Iowa. In 1970, the couple moved to Webster City when he ran the State Farm Insurance Agency. He retired in 1985, moving to Lake Cornelia where the couple lived for 18 years. They moved into Clarion where they lived for four years prior to moving back to Webster City in 2007. Marv had been residing at Southfield Wellness Community since July of 2010.

Survivors include his wife Donna; children, Ruth Kampe, Clinton, IA; Louis (Kathy) Wolfgram, Boone; Beth (Dale) Hill, Loveland, CO; Teresa (Don) Wilcox, Moingona, IA; Mary (Paul) Lindahl, Boone; Paul (Rita) Wolfgram, Webster City; Gene (Debbie) Wolfgram, Plano, TX; Joe (Dodie) Wolfgram, Webster City; 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Marv was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Wolfgram and granddaughter, Sarah Wolfgram.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City. His memberships also included the American Legion Post #246 of Clarion; Moose Family Center and he was a past member of the V.F.W. and Elks all of Clarion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the discretion of the family.
