Doris Evans Kornfeld, 84, of rural Williams, died Saturday, June 11, 2011 at VanDiest Medical Center in Webster City. A private family graveside will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in Dows. Doris Laurel Evans, daughter of Theodore and Verda Opal Grove Evans, was born December 15, 1926 on the family farm in Williams. She graduated from Dows Community Schools. She married Walter Kornfeld in February, 1949. She worked at TRW Aerospace Systems in Randio Beach, CA., retiring in 1992. She then returned to the family farm in Williams where she volunteered her time on sewing projects for American Veterans and cancer patients. Doris is survived by her sons Thomas Kornfeld of Greenville, SC and Hans “Ted” Kornfeld of Mableton, GA; grandchildren Lacy and Alex Kornfeld of Greenville, SC; and a sister Carole Fitzgerald of Eugene, OR.
