Alfred J. Hagren, 93, of Faribault, Minnesota, died on Sunday morning, July 22, 1984, in the Rice County District One Hospital in Faribault. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, 1984, in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church in Clarkfield, Minnesota, with Pastor John T. Christiansen officiating. Soloist was Pastor Christiansen, who sang "Behold a Host Arrayed in White" ("Den Store Hvide Flok Vise") and "The Lord's Prayer". Karen Donner was the organist.
Casket Bearers were Ardell Benson, Arden Berg, Jim Opheim, John Opheim, Al Rysdahl and Merlyn Wallen. Final Resting Place is the Clarkfield Lutheran Church Cemetery, Clarkfield, Minnesota.He was the son of John and Syneva (Jordal) Hagren, born January 19, 1891, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He was raised by the late Carl and Caroline Berg. He married Louise Rysdahl on June 7, 1923, in Clarkfield. They farmed there until their retirement, moving to Faribault in 1969.
He is survived by his wife Louise; daughter Mrs. Gerald (Marian) Spitzack of Faribault; three grandchildren; one great grandson; sisters Elsie Hagren of Faribault, Mrs. Christine Benson, Mrs. Judith Rysdahl, Mrs. Clara Severson of the Clarkfield area; brothers Arnie Berg, Clarence Berg, Wilhelm Berg and Harold Berg of the Clarkfield area, and Arthur Berg of Willmar, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his son Alvin in 1943; grandson David Spitzack in 1969; three sisters, Josie Hagren, Mamie Benson and Joella Berg; brothers Willie and Henry.
