Mrs. Josie (Lars) Charlotte Amdahl, 92, of Northfield, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, September 11, 1985, at the Northfield City Hospital. Services were held at 10:00 a.m., September 13, 1985, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Northfield with Pastor Jennings Feroe officiating. Mrs. Donald Klinefelter was the organist.

Josie and her husband, Lars were residents of the Northfield Retirement Center for several years. She was born March 13, 1893 to parents Ove and Margrethe Olson at Thor, Iowa. The family moved to Clarkfield in 1901. She married Lars Amdahl in 1913. They lived in Clarkfield for several years where Lars was employed at the Clarkfield Roller Mills. Their son Jerome was born here. Later they moved to Dawson, when Lars was hired to be the manager of an elevator. In 1925 they moved to Ahnberg, South Dakota. Here their daughter, Joyce Lois was born on December 3, 1927. They also lived at Lamberton, Minnesota. In 1947 he retired from the elevator business and they moved to Northfield. Because of ill health the Amdahls retired to the Northfield Retirement Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away on October 24, 1984; their son Jerome in 1936; her parents; three brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include her daughter Joyce and her husband, Erling Kindem of Farmington, Minnesota; two sisters, Agnes Olson of Clarkfield, Carolyn Anderson and brother-in-law Carl Anderson of Sacred Heart, Minnesota; sister-in-law Mrs. Ruth Olson of Boyd, Minnesota; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Following the Service at Northfield, a service was held at the Lynner Funeral Home Chapel at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Gordon Trelstad officiating. Christian Hymns were presented by recording. The Casket Bearers were her nephews. Jack and Lois Lynner served lunch at their home to the family, grandchildren, relatives and friends. Final Resting Place is Clarkfield Lutheran Cemetery, Clarkfield, Minnesota. Arrangements by:
