Funeral services for Richard Lee Stock, 59, of Greene, Iowa will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Reid’s Funeral Chapel, 519 N. First St. Greene. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Greene, with Military Honors Conducted by Tack- Barnette Post 168 American Legion of Greene. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Reid’s Funeral Chapel, Greene.

Richard Lee Stock was born on July 30, 1951, in Charles City, Floyd Co., Iowa ,a son of Elmer Carl and Barbara Elsie (Blake) Stock and died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. He received his education in the public schools graduating from Greene High School in 1969. During high school he worked at the B & W Grocery Store in Greene. After graduation Richard joined the United States Navy where he served in the Vietnam War before being honorably discharged.

On June 7, 1974, Richard was united in marriage to Deborah Louise Foster, at the Riverside Baptist Church in Morganton, North Carolina. This union was blessed with two sons. Deborah passed away in October of 2001. After being discharged from the Navy, Richard went to work for Eaton Corporation in Belmond where he remained until November of 2010. He was a devoted employee and a very hard worker. In July 2003, Richard was united in marriage to Lynn Duncan. Richard liked to visit Deadwood, South Dakota, he enjoyed Trout Fishing, going gambling, and spending time with his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a Yankee and Cubs fan.

Richard is survived by his son Tom (Melanie) Stock of Clarinda; 2 step-children: Jessica (Joe) Toenjes of Waverly and Allen Duncan of Kingston, TN; 4 grandchildren: Tessa Marie, Foster, Mason and Logan; his mother Barbara Elsie Blake of Greene; 2 brothers: John (Gayla) Stock of Cedar Creek, TX, Kenneth (JoAnn) Stock of Eldora, nephew Dan Stock of Minneapolis, MN; niece Cheryl Michaud of Anchorage, AK. He was preceded in death by his wife Deborah, son Richard, father Elmer, uncle Ivan Stock, grandparents: Rudolph and Minnie Stock and John and Elta Blake.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Richard Stock Memorial Fund, 110 Chestnut St. Apt 2, Clarinda, Iowa 50632. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Chapel, 519 N. First St. Greene, IA.
