Donald Eugene Kimball of Phoenix, passed away on April 18, 2011. Don was born on February 20, 1930 in Klemme, Iowa. Don had 1 brother and 2 sisters. After graduating from Boone High School, he married the love of his life, Betty, in January 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948-1952. Don and Betty moved their family from Denver, Colorado to Phoenix, Arizona in 1960. Don was a member of the Phoenix Fire Department from 1960-1983, where he retired as a Battalion Chief. Don is survived by his wife Betty, sons Bruce, Rick (Marti), and Kelly (DawnMarie), as well as many grandchildren & great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, April 25th from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Avenue, Glendale. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 26th at 10 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the: "Gary Pykare Cancer Fund", United Phoenix Fire Fighters - Local 493, Attn: Ray Maione, 61 East Columbus Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85012.
