Robert Gerald Marshall, 85, of Clarion, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2006 at Iowa Methodist Center, Des Moines. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 19th at First Lutheran Church, Clarion. Pastor Gary Boen officiated the 1:30 p.m. service. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion.

Robert Gerald Marshall was born September 17, 1920, in Lincoln Township, Wright County, the son of Ralph and Ethel (McCormick) Marshall. He attended rural school in Lincoln Township and graduated from Clarion High School in 1939. On March 13, 1949, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Lueck at First Lutheran Church, Clarion. Robert and Marilyn had been married for 57 years. Robert began farming in 1942 and farmed on the same place for over 50 years. Over the years he had been active in the Wright County Diary Association, the state and district Guernsey Associations, Northwest Iowa Breeders Association, served as an ASCS Township Committee person, a Wright County Fair Board Director for 25 years, a 4-H leader for 13 years, and had been a long time member of the Lions Club. Robert was a member of First Lutheran Church where he served as an usher, funeral usher, and had been on the Endowment Committee, Long Range Planning Committee, and a member of the Church Council.

Robert is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three children-Carol Kellison and husband, Roger of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Kay Anderson and husband, Allyn of LeMars; Jim Marshall and wife, Marsha of Ft. Lupton, Colorado; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; three step great-grandchildren; a brother-Daryl Marshall of Clarion; sisters-Maxine Spencer and husband, Gene; Betty Fibikar and husband, Richard of Clarion; Theresa Hollebrands; Mary Ann Gathman and husband, Al; Inez Hanig and husband, Duane; Phyllis Zwiefel and husband, Daryl of Clarion; one sister-in-law, Kay Marshall of Clarion; many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-Rush Marshall.
