Calvin Junior Eittreim was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa on February 9, 1928, to Emmer O. and Sarah (Horstman) Eittreim. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth. Calvin went to work as a custodian for hospitals at the age of 17. He worked in Perry, Waterloo and Fort Dodge, retiring in 1988 and returned to Eagle Grove. Cal was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Football fan, enjoyed watching the History Channel, going for drives and having coffee with the guys.

Calvin passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011, Wright Medical Center in Clarion, at the age of 83 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmer Eittreim and Sarah Rasmussen and a sister, Verna Crane. He is survived by sisters, Edna Arne of Clarion and Midge Bailey of Eagle Grove and a brother, Maynard Eittreim and wife Marilyn of Eagle Grove and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at 11:00 am at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove, with Pastor Paul Breddin officiating. Memorial donations may be left to the discretion of the family.
