3 September 1890 -- 23 February 1899

Emerson, Nebraska --Arel Carder, 8 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Carder of Emerson, died on Thursday last. Died of measles. Family resided in Oakland in 1897 when Mr. Carder was telegraph operator. Remains taken to Eagle Grove, IA, their former home for interment.

Last Saturday the remains of Arel Carder arrived from Emerson, Nebraska, where she died with the measles. She was 8 years of age and a granddaughter of Wm. Carder. The interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Chas. Carder received word Friday of the death of Arel, daughter of E. E. Carder and wife, of Emerson, Neb. The little girl was eight years old and died from blood poison, one of the after effects of an attack of measles. The parents and Eagle Grove relatives have the sympathy of many friends.
