Mark Trotter Reed, 79, of McAllen, Tex., formerly of Decatur, died Sunday in McAllen General Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Reed was born May 29, 1889, near Oreana a son of Robert and Louisa Barbara Fulk Reed. He farmed near Corwith, Iowa, before moving to Decatur in 1924 where he became an employee at the Mississippi Valley Structural Steel Co. He worked there until his retirement in 1949. Mr. Reed married Esther A. Brown June 1st, 1910. She died June 19, 1960. He married Thelma Erlenbusch Aug. 27, 1967. She survives. While in Decatur, he was a member of the Church of the Brethren and a Mason. Mr. Reed leaves three daughters, Mrs. F. A. (Mildred) Tucker, Decatur; Mrs. Virge (Gail) Geece and Mrs. Karl (Jane) Littleton, both of McAllen, Tex; three sons, Burrell F., Norwich, Conn; Leon, Uncasville, Conn; David L., Decatur; sister, Mrs. Rollie (Fern) Beaman, Decatur; two brothers, Ralph of Fargo, N.D., and Byron of Decatur. He also leaves a step daughter, Mrs. John (Reva) Potter of Decatur; two stepsons, Don Erlenbusch of Bloomington, and Tom Erlenbusch of Decatur; eight grandchildren, four great- grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be a 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Kreidler Funeral Home, McAllen Tex. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, McAllen.
