Henrietta P. Lolkus, 94, Chandler, Minnesota died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at the Pipestone County Medical Center. Funeral services were held Friday, March 25 at Christian Reformed Church in Chandler. Interment was in the Chandler Memorial Cemetery in Chandler.

Henrietta (Bandstra) Lolkus was born on Oct. 6, 1910 to John and Minnie (Hulleman) Bandstra on a farm in Norway Township, Wright County, Iowa. She was baptized and made her profession of faith in the Christian Reformed Church. She moved with her family to a farm in Wright County and then on to the Chandler area. She married Jon Lolkus on Dec. 16, 1931 in Chandler. They made their home on a farm south of town until 1933, when they bought the hardware store in Chandler. They also operated a plumbing and heating business as part of the hardware store. In 1949 they went into the petroleum business and excavation business until in 1955, when the hardware store burned down. They again operated a plumbing and heating business as well. They retired in 1963 when their son, Casey, took over the business.

Henrietta was a member of the Christian Reformed Church. After her husband's death in August of 1994, she stayed in her own home until January of 1997 when she stayed at the Ashton Care Center in Pipestone for a few months. She returned home until June 1998 and then moved to Pipestone residing in the Good Samaritan Village and Ridgeview Congregate housing before becoming a permanent resident in the Good Samaritan Village in September 2001.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn (Dick) Struiksma, Norwalk, Calif.; one son, Cornelius "Casey" (Cecelia), Pipestone; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jon, one sister, Gertrude, two brothers, Rick and Paul and one adopted sister, Betty.
