Funeral services for Dorothy Arlene Dow, 82, of Iowa Falls were held Friday, March 11, 2011 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.
Dorothy Dow passed away March 8. She was born August 8, 1928 near Belmond, the daughter of Richard Alan and Hallie Starr (Thomas) Parker. She attended Belmond schools. On April 27;, 1946 Dorothy was united in marriage to Warren Curtis Weismann at Coulter. To this union five children were born. He passed away in 1964. Dorothy was united in marriage to Russell Paul Dow, Sr. on July 17, 1975. Dorothy had been a short order cook and waitress and also worked for Welch Sporting Goods. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7920 Auxiliary, Osage where she had served as Conductress and Chaplain and she was a member of Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post #188 Auxiliary of Iowa Falls.
She is survived by her children: Terry Weismann of Marshalltown; Jerry (Charlene) Weismann of Iowa Falls; Karla Weismann of Iowa Falls; Tracy Weismann of Marshalltown; George Lehman of Clarion; stepchildren: Cathy (Larry) Miller of Garden City; Darlene Leonard of Clinton; Mark (Deb) Dow of Clarion; Rusty Dow of Iowa Falls; 20 grandchildren; 28 grandchildren and her sister, Patricia Edgerton of Iowa Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Warren Wiesmann and Russell Dow; an infant daughter: Madelia Weismann; three grandchildren; a sister: Marjorie Gabrielson and two brothers: Bernard Parker and Richard Parker.
