BELMOND, IA — Donald H. Madison, 69, of Belmond passed away Sunday March 6, 2011, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. Memorial services for Donald Madison will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday March 10, at the Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South in Belmond. Pastor Jim Harbaugh will officiate. Visitation for Donald Madison will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at the Dugger Funeral Home. There will be no viewing the body has been cremated. Memorials may be made in Donald Madison’s name.
Donald Herman, the son of Carlton H. and Frieda H. Deling Madison, was born July 29, 1941, in Fremont, Minn. Don grew up in the Belmond and Goodell areas where he attended school. He graduated from the Belmond High School in 1960. Throughout his life Don worked for various North Iowa employers. He spent time at Trigg’s Manufacturing and worked for the chicken plant in Goodell. Don then worked several years at the EDS plant in Clarion before his retirement. Donald was united in marriage to Hildegard Wehner Pals on Aug. 11, 1984. The couple made their home in Belmond. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Donald most enjoyed his time spent with Hilda surrounded by family.
Don is survived by wife, Hildegard; children, Donald (Marlene) Andreasen of Georgia: Mary (Darrell) Hinderaaker of Lake Mills: Petra (Wayne) Lamfers of Belmond: Nanci (David) Borg of Missouri Valley: Neal (Julie) Pals of Clear Lake; 11 grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Rob, Derek, Alyssa, McKenzie, Megan, Randy, Andrew, Larry and Travis; 10 great- grandchildren, Colten, Keaton, Remington, Kaden, Andrew, Avery, Alec, Landen, Michael and Leighton; and two brothers, Gerald of Goodell and Robert of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane S., Box 233, Belmond, IA 50421.
