Daniel Lee Garman died on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. He was 55. Services were held on Friday, May 23, 2008, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wesley with Father Randy Schon officiating. Interment followed at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Wesley.
Dan was born on July 1, 1952, in Algona to Edward and Arlene Studer Garman. He graduated from the Corwith -Wesley High School in 1970. After his schooling, Dan worked at Winnebago Industries in Forest City for two years. On Oct. 14, 1972, Dan was married to Rebecca O'Hern at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Britt. The couple lived in Wesley, where Dan worked for the K & H Coop for the next 35 years.
Dan was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wesley. He had also belonged to the Wesley Fire Department for over 20 years and coached Little League Baseball in Wesley for 25 years. Dan enjoyed fishing, working in his yard and playing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing pool when he was younger.
Surviving are his wife, Becky of Wesley and his two sons, Justin Garman and wife, Erica, Shell Rock, and their children, McKenzie and Jaxon, and Nick Garman and wife, Angie, of Garner, and their son Tate. Dan is also survived by his two sisters, Diane Daigle and husband, Paul, Cohasset, Minn., and Deb Weringa and husband, Craig, Blue Earth, Minn. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, his step mother and his brother Dave. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Wesley, in charge of arrangements.
