Lela 'Lee' Richardson of Britt, 80, died Saturday, July 19 (2003), in the North Iowa Mercy Health Care Center at Mason City. Graveside Memorial services for her were held July 24 at 1:30 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery with Mr. Bill Richardson officiating. The Ewing Funeral Home of Britt was in charge of funeral arrangements.

The daughter of Forest Franklin and Ruby Fern Santee Fett, Lela was born July 12, 1923, on a farm in the Corwith area. She attended country school near Corwith and when she was older, helped her parents on the farm. Lela was married to Jerald Richardson at Goodell, IA on June 19, 1948. They made their home at Britt. Lee loved to talk with her family and hearing about her many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. Lee was a member of the Britt VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. A highlight of her day was attending congregate meals and visiting her many friends.

Lela is survived by three sisters and two brothers; Vera Fish of Corwith, Doris and Arlo Stewart, Fort Dodge; Bonnie and Alan Croonquist, Moorland; Alfred Fett, Algona and Darrell and Billie Fett, Chandler, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1998, her parents, five sisters and four brothers.
