REEDSPORT, OR - The funeral will be held today, Feb. 28, for Colleen Toppings of Reedsport, who died Feb. 25 of a heart attack. She was 73. Toppings was born Feb. 19, 1929, in Reedsport to Herbert and Maxamillia Thompson Butler. She married Dale Toppings in Reedsport on May 26, 1946. He died Feb. 12, 2002. Toppings was a homemaker. Her interests included bowling, and she enjoyed activities with her grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Sather of Eugene and Wannette Vosburg of Veneta; two sisters, Margaret Conrad of North Bend and Violet Richardson of Reedsport; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A daughter, Eilleen Binning, died in 1999. Today's service will be at 10 a.m. at Dunes Memorial Chapel in Reedsport. Burial will be at Scottsburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lower Umpqua Hospice.
