Ron E. Sheriff, 62, truck driver who loved wrestling & football

Ronald Eugene Sheriff, the son of Ward Benjamin Sheriff and Vivian Mae (Ferguson), was born November 16, 1946, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove. Ron worked as a truck driver for Mellenger Trucking Co. of Wahoo, Neb., and also as a “handyman” for Dick Sadler. Ron married Brenda Hamm, and they later divorced. On December 19, 1998, Ron married Beulah Ford at Webster City. Ron enjoyed riding his motorcycle, watching wrestling and football. He was a Vikings fan. Ron passed away Monday, November 2, 2009, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, at the age of 62 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Sheriff; sister, Kay McFadden; and daughter, Crystal. Survivors include his wife, Beulah, of Eagle Grove; daughter, Rhonda Lovan, of Marshalltown; sons, Kevin Sheriff of Des Moines, and Casey of Indianola; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly Beisell (Duane) of Eagle Grove;
brothers, Richard Sheriff (Carolyn) of Des Moines, and Donald Sheriff (Carla), of Sweet Springs, Mo.; stepdaughters, Marlys Frank and Mary Parmely of Waterloo, and Donna Miller of Fort Dodge; stepsons, Clinton Miller and Brian Miller of Waterloo, and Allan Miller of Egan, Minn.; special nephews, Russ and Darrell Beisell of Eagle Grove; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 5, at 11 a.m., from the Foust Funeral Home in Goldfield, with Pastor Chris Lang officiating. Burial was held in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
