Margaret Beatrice Kinne

Margaret Kinne, the daughter of Martin and Nellie (Searcy) Christopher, was born August 2, 1919 at Vincent, Iowa and departed this life September 8, 2010 at the Greene County Long Term Care Facility in Jefferson, Iowa. She lived her life to the age of 91 years, 1 month and 6 days. Margaret grew up on a farm near Vincent, Iowa, east of Fort Dodge. She attended school through the 8th grade. She later worked in the dietary department at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge. On March 3, 1942, Margaret Christopher was united in marriage to Clarence Kinne at her sister Alta’s home. Three children were born to this union. The family lived on a farm between Paton and Churdan from 1942 to 1976. Margaret and Clarence moved to Jefferson in 1976 and Clarence passed away in 1977. Margaret was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson. She was a stay-at-home mom and housewife. She enjoyed playing cards and baking delicious goodies for her grandchildren whom she dearly loved. In 2006, Margaret became a resident of the Greene County Long Term Care Facility.

Margaret is survived by her three children; DuWayne Kinne of Jefferson, Ramona Kinne of Jefferson and Janice and her husband, Darrell Hawthorne, of Lohrville, six grandchildren and 13 greatgrand-children. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a twin brother, Martin (Bud), and sisters; Alta, Mary, Georgia and Viola, and daughter-in-law, Vicky Kinne.

A celebration of Margaret’s life was held at 10:00 A.M. September 11, 2010 from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson with Rev. David Simonson officiating. Interment was made in the Dawson Township Cemetery west of Paton. Musical selections, “How Great Thou Art” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” were sung by the congregation and accompanied by organist, Erma Juergensen. A tape selection of “The Lord’s Prayer” was also played. Serving as casket bearers were Brett Hawthorne, Jeremie Kinne, Kyle Kinne, Reed Kinne, Jonathan Hayes, Brian McClain, Darwin Kinne and James Wagner. Memorials are suggested to be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Brown Funeral Home, Jefferson, Iowa
