Lois N. Johnson, 88, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010 due to complications of hip replacement surgery. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at McLaren's Chapel with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
Lois was born April 28, 1921 in Rowan, IA, the second of four children of Rollie and Jessie Harris. She graduated from Rowan High School in a class of six girls and all six played on the six on six basketball team. Lois married Robert L. Johnson on April 11, 1943. She worked for Younkers (Merle Hay) for over 25 years in customer service. Lois loved to work in her yard and just be outside. She will be deeply missed by family, friends and neighbors.
Lois is survived by two sons, Terry (Cathy) Johnson of Clive and Randy Johnson of West Des Moines; brother, Merle (Jackie) Harris of South Carolina; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, with another due soon. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Bob, sister Ardyce, and son Dean.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday at McLaren's Chapel.
