March 10, 1956 -- February 9, 2011

Brian Lee Brinkman, of Framingham, Massachusetts died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011. Brian is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Phyllis Brinkman of Gilmore City, Iowa; his brother, Kurt Brinkman of Emeryville, Calif.; his sister, Susan Kuss of Stillwater, Minn.; three nieces, Heather Lent, Ashley Mendoza, and Lauren Kuss; seven grandnieces and grandnephews; and many friends.

Brian was born March 10, 1956, spent his elementary schools years in Dows, Iowa, then moved to Gilmore City where he graduated from the 1974 class of Gilmore City-Bradgate High School. Brian moved to Massachusetts in the late 1970s and worked for many years as assistant director of housekeeping at St. Patricks Manor in Framingham. He enjoyed working with elderly people and considered it a privilege to care for the many war veterans who resided in the home. Recently, poor health made continuing this work impossible. Brian was a loyal friend, a voracious reader of non-fiction, had a keen interest in politics, a wry sense of humor and a love of dogs and the New England Patriots. The family would like to express its gratitude to Dorothy Marsland-Casey, Sister Maureen McDonough, and Bob Sullivan for their assistance and support. A memorial service to celebrate Brian's life will be held Saturday, March 26, at 11 a.m., at Faith United Methodist Church in Gilmore City, preceded by visitation at 10 a.m. Lunch will be served following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association or Faith United Methodist Church, Gilmore City.
