Charles Augustus Frisbee was born in Dows, Iowa, February 2, 1874, and moved with his family to Alden, Iowa. By the time he was sixteen, and still in high school, he was catching on the Alden team, which won the Hardin County championship in 1890. For the next two years, l89l and 1892, Charlie played on the Eldora team. During the the seasons of l894 and 1895 he played on the team of Grinnell College, where he was a student, He made his professional baseball start in 1896, joining the Portland, Oregon, team of the Northwest league, In 1897 he played with Quincy, Illinois of the Three-Eye league, and here he switched from catcher to outfielder, In 1898 he moved to Kansas City of the Western league as an outfielder, After that season he was ticketed for what was then the country's only major league, the National, and was sold to Boston, In 1900 he was sold to the New York Giants, His last job in professional baseball was as manager of the Waterloo, Iowa, Three-Eye team in 1906. Charlie married Luella F, Catlin of Alden, in 1903, and they had two children: Nellie Naoma, and a son Frank Catlin Frisbee. Charlie died in Alden in 1954.
