April 1998CORWITH, IA — Merrill Gene Moon, 62, died suddenly Thursday (April 2, 1998) at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, Britt. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Calvary Cemetery, Stuart, with the Rev. Daniel Clark officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Stuart American Legion Post #146. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Garry-Robert-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Corwith, and a prayer service will begin at 7:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Marvin Bries at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday with a rosary service beginning at 7 p.m. at the Link Funeral Home, Stuart. All arrangements have been made by Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Corwith.
Merrill Gene Moon was born on July 11, l936, at Algona. He is survived by his wife, Lillian, of Corwith, and his children, Thomas Moon of Stuart and Brian Moon of LaQuinta, Calif; eight grandchildren; his mother, Rose Fletcher, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; one sister, Kay Dakovich, Des Moines; and his aunt, Louise Miller, Kanawha. He was preceded in death by his father.
