The intelligence reached here Monday afternoon that Mrs. Menno Bakker who had been taken from her home at Renwick, Iowa, to Des Moines to have an operation performed last week, had died in Mercy hospital that morning. The corpse, accompanied by Mr. Bakker, reached here on the 10:00 p.m. train Monday night.

The deceased was a daughter of Mrs. T. Bunger of this place. She was married to Menno G. Bakker about six years ago and was 28 years, 10 months and 10 days old at the time of her death. She is survived by a husband, mother, six brothers and two sisters, who are overcome with grief at so sad and unexpected ending of a life, that up to the time of her recent illness, had been full of sunshine and happiness.

Funeral services will take place at the Dutch Reformed church west of Wellsburg at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon, Rev. Wolcotten officiating. Interment taking place at the church cemetery.
