Evelyn Ilene Quick, 86, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2011, at Tompkins Memorial Health Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 22nd, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Van Nostrand, St. John's Lutheran Church, Vincent, officiating. Burial will be in Colfax Twp. Cemetery near Vincent. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her sons, Steven (Lis) Quick of Trimble, MO; Gregory (Donna) of Marion; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Delbert (Dorothy) Telschaw of Fort Dodge; and her sisters, Mildred Bothe of Fort Dodge, Alice (Tom) Eisenhauer of Manson, Lois Dencklau and Janice Kloss both of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter P.H. and Olga M. Hansch Telschaw; husband Arthur "Bud"; and a son, Michael Quick.
Evelyn Ilene Telschaw was born on July 3, 1924, in Colfax Twp. She attended St. John's Parochial School and then Fort Dodge Senior High. On February 2, 1947, she was united in marriage to Arthur Quick at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Vincent. The couple farmed in Iowa and Minnesota for several years, then moving to Arizona and returning to Vincent in 1969. Evelyn worked at the Vincent Locker and also was self employed as an interior painter until 1996. Evelyn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, L.L.L.; and taught Sunday school for many years. Memorials may be left to the Alzheimer's Association.
