Jean M. Willard, 80, of Eagle Grove, Iowa died Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion, Iowa following a battle with cancer . A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Survivors include her children Terry (Sandy) Willard of Eagle Grove, Bud (Char) Willard of Eagle Grove, Naomi (Ed) Hower of Glen Lyon, PA, Carla (Melvin) Schnell of Eagle Grove, Brady (Kathy) Willard of Eagle Grove, Gary Willard of Eagle Grove, Mark Willard of Spencer, IA, Candy (Mike) Baker of Eagle Grove, Jackie (Mark) Thompson of Glenville, MN, Gwen Alcorn of Eagle Grove, Wade (Jane) Willard of Eagle Grove, and Michelle Jacobson of Eagle Grove. Also surviving are two sisters, Virginia Wilson of California, and Patricia Schultz of Eagle Grove; 39 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. Her husband, parents, brother, Orland Leo Conaway, one grandson, Steven Willard, and two great-granddaughters, Amanda Lalor and Kelsi Marshal, preceded her in death.

Marilyn Jean Conaway was born January 24, 1926 to Orland Sr. and Martha (Baker) Conaway in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She married Louis A. Willard on November 12, 1946 in Merrill, Wisconsin. Jean attended school in Eagle Grove. Jean was employed with Wilson’s of Eagle Grove and as a cook with Jack and Jill Grocery Store in Eagle Grove. Jean enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family and friends were everything to her.
