August 14, 1931 - May 16, 1986

Funeral services were held May 19 for John Schutt, 54, at the Vernon Lutheran Church with Rev. Roger Dykstra officiating. Burial was in Blairsburg cemetery. Mr. Schutt, a lifelong Blairsburg resident, died Friday, May 16, 1986 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City where he was a patient for seven weeks. Graveside flag folding services were by American Legion Post 633 of Williams.

John Henry Schutt, son of Henry and Mable Heiden Schutt, was born Aug. 14, 1931 at Williams. He was educated at Williams. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He married Norma Smith on Sept. 26, 1954 at Vernon Lutheran Church. The couple farmed north of Blairsburg.

Survivors are his wife, two daughters and one son, Rebecca (Mrs. Alan) Greiner of Churdan, J. Matthew Schutt of Royal and Deborah; mother, Mable Schutt of Williams; three sisters and three brothers, Anna (Mrs. Henry) Huisinga of Clarion, Marilyn (Mrs. Melvin) Ubben of Williams, Fred of Williams, William of Buckeye, Sharon (Mrs. Ronald) Brandt of Ackley and Thomas of Williams. He was preceded in death by his father.
