Frances Virginia (Schultz) Redfield
September 25, 1921 -- January 14, 2011

BELMOND, IA - Frances Redfield, age 89, most recently a resident of the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond, died, Friday (Jan. 14, 2011) at the Rehabiltation Center. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Andrews Funeral Home, 516 First St. S.E., Belmond. The Rev. James Harbaugh will be officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Algona. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Monday, at the funeral home and continue one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Frances Virginia (Schultz) was born on Sept. 25, 1921, in Humboldt, to Arthur H. and M. Camilla (Laursen) Schultz. She grew up in the area until 1936 when the family moved to Estherville, where she graduated from high school. On Sept. 7, 1942, she was united in marriage to Clark D. Redfield and they settled in Des Moines. Frances had several jobs and in 1958 started with the U.S. government. In 1966 she and Clark moved to Kansas City and continued working for the government until she retired in 1985. Frances enjoyed playing cards, cooking, sewing, watching the birds at her various feeders, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Duwaine and wife Peggy of Belmond; Merlin of New Port Richey, Fla., and Suzanne of Leander, Texas; five grandchildren, Jason Redfield, Camille Usher, Jennifer Adkins, Megan Kuhlers, and Brie Redfield; 10 great-grandchildren, Ashton Redfield, Addie Marie Usher, Koty Kuhlers, Trevor Usher, Jackson Redfield, Triston Adkins, Chloe Hobscheidt, Aidan Adkins, Aiden Hobscheidt, and Addison Adkins.
