Funeral services for Faye Sandvig of Thor will be Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor with the Rev. Gene Broughton officiating. Interment will be in East Ullensvang Cemetery, Thor. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Faye Allen Sandvig, was born Feb. 22, 1916 in Stanhope, IA, the daughter of Charles and Ella Allen. She graduated from Stanhope High School and from Iowa State Teachers College with a degree in Education. Faye taught school in Clarion until she married Stanley Sandvig on Sept. 5, 1943. After marriage she helped her husband on the farm until their retirement.
Faye is survived by her daughters, Georgia Baderschneider of Longwood, FL, Sharon (Don) Cerwick of Slater, and Susan (Mike) Gates of Mount Vernon; son, Allan Sandvig of Downey, CA.; grandchildren Eric (Hannah), Ryan (Ammani), Andria (Barry), Andrew (Sarah) and Donny and Great-Grandchildren Owen, Amelia, Ellis and Samuel. Brother, Charles Allen and Sister Gladas VanMeter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, sisters, Ruby, Bessie, Fern, and Edna and son-in-law Roger Baderschneider.
