August 12, 1876 -- August 29, 1940

Mr. Ohmer Dennis Hill was born at Newton, Iowa, August 12, 1876 and made his home there until 15 years of age. For two years after he made his home in Missouri. He worked in and around Belmond and Des Moines, Iowa until he was married in 1896 to Mary Phelps. They purchased a home and lived in Belmond, Iowa until March 1906. To them three children were born: Verda, Wesley and Raymond. They then moved to Barton, N.D. and farmed for 4 years. During this time two children, Leona and Cecil were born, the latter living only two months. In 1910 they filed homestead rights 25 miles north of Inverness on the land where he has since made his home. To them give children were born in Montana; Robert, Anna, Walter, Arthur and Lloyd. In 1927, on September 1st, his wife Mary Phelps Hill passed away and was laid to rest in Grace cemetery. In March 1928 Robert was also laid to rest. On April 16, 1930 he married Susanna Fair who through a previous marriage had one son, Edwin.

Mr. Hill became ill a year ago and has been in poor health since, until his death August 29, 1940. He leaves to mourn his loss, his beloved wife, Mrs. Susanna Hill, Inverness, Mr. & Mrs. Gilbert Young and family, Kalispell, Wesley Hill, Joplin, Mr. & Mrs. Ray Hill and son, Havre, Mr. & Mrs. F. Hodges and sons, Joplin, Mr. & Mrs. Mair and family, Wolf Point, Mr. & Mrs. Julius Ward, Kalispell, Mr. & Mrs. Walter Hill and son, Inverness, Arthur Hill, Joplin and Lloyd Hill of Kalispell. Burial in Grace Church Cemetery, Rudyard, Montana.
