Carol Lee Babcock, 63, was surrounded by family when she passed away peacefully on Friday, November 12, 2010, at her daughter's home in Boone, IA. In agreement with Carol's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation held. A Celebration of Carol's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, at Iles Funeral Homes, Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Chapel in Madrid. Private committal services will take place at a later date.

Carol was born on November 11, 1947 in Clarion, IA to Leland Ray and Maxine Carol Sheets Buchan. She married John Lee Babcock on November 24, 1989 in Charleston, SC. Carol's passion was dedicating her life to taking care of everyone. She retired as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant after several years.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, John Babcock of Madrid; three daughters, Stephanie (Shawn) Forsen of Mondamin, IA, Dawn (Tom) Heck of Boone and Jill (Reese) Polich of Madrid; sister, Linda (Gail) Vandell of Cumming, IA; 13 grandchildren, Sasha, Jordan, Johnathon, Jack and Kendall Forsen, Samantha, Taryn, Shelby, Jed and Stephie Heck, and Cheyenne, Zoey and Jenna Polich; and two great-grandchildren, Hadley and Kain. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter at infancy, Mary Elizabeth. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
