BELMOND, IA — Wayne Schmalle, 89, of Thornton, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thornton with Pastor Milton D. Johnson presiding. Interment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Thornton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Retz Funeral Home, Thornton. In lieu of flowers, Wayne’s family suggests memorials may be directed to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church or Opportunity Village in his memory. Retz Funeral Home, Thornton.
