Funeral Services For Guy Middleton, 77, were held at 2 p. m. Monday at the Methodist Church with Rev. Carl Jensen officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery at Eagle Grove with the Eyler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Masonic rites were conducted.

Guy Jesse Middleton was born to Jesse C. and Frances Allen Middleton July 12, 1889 at the farm home in Troy township near Eagle Grove, Iowa. He attended the Troy Center Country School for eight years and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1909, following which he attended Ames college for two years. In 1913 he was married to Hettie Warnes at Eagle Grove. Four sons were born to them, all of whom survive him. They are: David of Wapato, Washington; Frank of Clarion; Richard of Belmond; and Robert of Riverside, California. Also surviving in addition to his wife are a sister, Mrs. Clyde Eppard of East River St. Louis, Illinois, and two brothers, Lee and Lyle of Webster City, Iowa, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Florence and Bessie; and two brothers, Homer and Paul.

Mr. Middleton was received into the membership of the Troy Methodist church as a youth, then transferred to the Eagle Grove Methodist church and was a member of the Clarion Methodist Church at the time of his death. During his active days,
he was a very faithful member serving the church in many capacities as Sunday School Supt., teacher, and on various boards. His church meant a great deal to him. He joined the Masons in Eagle Grove in 1919 and was a member of Cyrene Lodge in Clarion at the time of his death. He started farming near Eagle Grove, then moved southeast of Clarion in 1923 where he farmed for 26 years. He died at the Clarion Community hospital Friday, June 23 at the age of 78 years. He had been an invalid since 1961.
