Doris Klipping passed peacefully from this life the evening of Sept. 3, 2010, after a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life. Doris was born June 13, 1939, in Woodbury, N.J, but has been an Iowan since 1960. In 2002, after raising her three boys and a daughter on a farm in rural Buffalo Center, Doris and her husband, Alfred, moved to Corwith, where she lived the remainder of her life. Doris is survived by her loving husband of more than 51 years, Alfred, Corwith; four children: Michael (Corrinne), Buffalo Center, Duane (Sandy), Bristow, Joseph (Deb), Des Moines, and Jennifer (Troy) Geraets, Solon; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a great-grandson coming in December. Doris is also survived by her sister Marion Adams, Jacksonville, N.C., and brothers-in-law Steve Durboraw, Mount Laurel, N.J., and Dale Jacobs, Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Betty Applegate; sister, Carol Durboraw; brother-in-law, Bill Adams; father-in-law, George Klipping. A celebration of Doris' life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Corwith Community Center, 110 Wayne St., Corwith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

CORWITH — Doris Jayne Klipping, 71, of 311 Easton St., Corwith, died Friday (Sept. 3, 2010) at the Kossuth Regional Health Center, Algona. Complying with her wishes, she was cremated. Memorial Park Funeral Home Crematory was in charge of her arrangements. Memorial Park Funeral Home & Crematory.
