OSAGE, IA - Scott W. Sawyer, 53, of Osage and formerly of Charles City, died peacefully Tuesday (Sept. 14, 2010) at his home. Funeral services for Scott Sawyer will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage with Pastors Roy Ott and Dennis Hanson officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main in Charles City, and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
Scott William Sawyer was born June 22, 1957, at Clarion, the son of Bill and Ann (Norton) Sawyer. He graduated from Lenox High School in 1975 and attended the University of Iowa. On March 5, 1976, he married Leigh Anne Molby and to this union Bradley and Tara were born. They later divorced. He married Jolene Patterson on May 2, 1998, and they later divorced. Scott married Erena Jensen on June 17, 2010, and to them Paxton Sawyer was born. For several years, Scott was the meat manager at Hy-Vee and was currently employed as a production supervisor at Cambrex. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and Wildwood Golf Course. His interests included golfing, playing cards, cooking, riding motorcycles and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Hawkeyes. Scott always looked forward to sharing his life with his children and grandchildren.
Living family members include his wife, Erena Sawyer of Osage; a daughter, Tara (Adam) Suter of Ankeny; an infant son, Paxton Sawyer; his parents, Bill and Ann Sawyer of Lenox; two grandchildren, Laney and Brodey Suter; a brother, Steve (Connie) Sawyer of Lenox; a sister, Jill Sawyer of Omaha, Neb.; a niece, Alison (Josh) Munter of Spencer; and two nephews, Tyson Sawyer of Winterset and Devon Sawyer of St. Louis, Mo. He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Sawyer, on Oct. 13, 1999. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family. The Hauser Funeral Home.
