E. Lucille Phillips, 87, of Council Bluffs died February 2 at Risen Son Nursing Home. She was born February 21, 1915, in Casey to Samuel and Elsie (Potter) Alloway. She previously lived in Kensett, Corwith, Paullina and Des Moines. She moved to Council Bluffs three years ago. She was a 1933 graduate of Des Moines East High School. She was a homemaker. She was of the Methodist faith.

Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Phillips M.D., in 1985; her daughter, Jane E. Phillips, in 1958; and her son, Kirk E. in 1966. Survivors include one son, John Phillips, of Neola; one sister, Mary Brough, of Ankeny; nieces, Barbara Olsen of Des Moines, Susan Sanchez of Costa Mesa, California, Ann Servin of San Bernadino, California; great niece, Christy Campbell, and great nephew, Steve Olson, both of Des Moines; seven great nieces and nephews; one great great nephew.

The funeral was held Tuesday at 1 P.M. at Cutler O'Neill Meyer Woodring Funeral Home. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, Nebraska. Memorials may be offered to the Lung Association or Iowa Public Television.
