Jeanne Juanita Kinsey was born on September 13, 1932, at Callender, Iowa, to Claude and Fern Juanita Hall. She graduated from the Dayton High School in Dayton, Iowa. Jeanne was married to Darwin Kinsey on October 2, 1952 at Perry, Iowa. The couple lived in Boxholm, Iowa and then moved to Corwith, Iowa in 1958, where Darwin worked for Don Poage and Rollie Hankins. They lived for a few years in Albany, Missouri and Webster City, Iowa, returning to Corwith in 1967, where Darwin worked for Bob Skelly in the fertilizer business. Jeanne started working for the Corwith-Wesley school in Corwith in the food department, eventually becoming head cook. She retired in 1993, and later moved to the Maple Park Apartments in Algona, Iowa. Jeanne was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a former member of the ladies’ group at the church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and arts and crafts. She also loved watching and feeding the many birds around her home.
Jeanne died suddenly at her home in Algona on Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at the age of 71. Jeanne is survived by 2 sons, Kurt Kinsey, Algona, Iowa, Jamie Kinsey, Sacramento, California, and 2 daughters, Lori Lunzford, Atlanta, Georgia and Julie Morris, Battle Mountain, Nevada. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 4 sisters, Mona Heiter, Dakota City, Iowa, Audrey Morgan and husband, Doug, Deerfield Beach, Florida, Dianna Porter, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Penny Helms, Traer, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Darwin in 1978, 2 daughters, Becky Smith and Nancy Kinsey and her brother, Clayton Helms.
