KANAWHA, IA -- Bert Steadly, 94, of Kanawha, died Sunday (June 9, 1996) at the Kanawha Community Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ewing Funeral Home, Kanawha, with the Rev. Matthew Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Amsterdam Township Cemetery, Goodell. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at the Ewing Funeral Home. Bert Steadly was born Nov. 27, 1901, in Keokuk. There are no survivors. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.

Bert Steadly, 94, passed away Sunday, June 9, 1996, at the Kanawha Community Home in Kanawha, Iowa.

Bert was born November, 27, 1901, in Keokuk, the son of Andrew and Malinda Steadly. After his parents’ deaths he was raised by the Henry Meinder family in Belmond, where he attended school. Bert loved farming, helping area farmers as a farm hand. He was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers and sisters.
