BELMOND, IA — Alvin C. Allen, 86, of Belmond, died Tuesday (March 24, 1998) at the Belmond Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Lowell Halvorson, officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Dugger Ewing Funeral Home, with a 7 p.m. Odd Fellows service. There will be further visitation one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

Alvin C. Allen was born Sept. 24, 1911, in Denver, Colo. Survivors include two daughters, Ardith Stevenson, Spencer, and Aileen Hoffman, Shellsburg; two sons, Arnold Allen, Olathe, Kan., and Arden Allen, Ackley; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Fraser, Latimer. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister.
