Clear Lake, IA - Trina W. Mestad 84, of 400 Highway 18 W., died Saturday (May 8, 2010) at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 12, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, with the Rev. Keith Scott officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake. Memorials may be directed to the Trina W. Mestad Memorial in care of Curtis Mestad.

Trina Wilhelmina Linne was born on Aug. 16, 1925, in Klemme, the daughter of Henry and Alvina (Sandersfeld) Linne. She attended country school and later Clear Lake schools. Trina worked in a local café in Clear Lake and cleaned houses. She was a homemaker for most of her life taking care of her family. On Nov. 9, 1944, she was united in marriage to Orval Mestad at the Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake; to this union two children were born. Trina enjoyed reading, puzzles and loved her pets. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Trina is survived by her son, Curtis Mestad, Clear Lake; brother, Henry Jr. (Donna) Linne, Coralville; sisters-in-law, Josephine Linne, Mason City, and Marlys (Dean) Davis, Arizona; brother-in-law, Kenneth Roppe, Northwood; special niece, Katherine Hanna, Boulder, Colo.; special friend, Eleanor Wubben; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Trina is preceded in death by her parents; husband Orval; son Gary; two brothers, Robert and George Linne; sister Gerturde Roppe; sister-in-law Helen Mestad; special friends Marie Bonner and Iva (Melvin) Mylkelstad. Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St. Clear Lake.
