KLEMME — June E. Nelson, 72, of Klemme, died Friday (April 17, 1998) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 20, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Garner, with Father John W. Hemann, officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. Fourth St., Garner, with a 7 p.m. Scripture service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to the June E. Nelson Memorial Fund.

June Elizabeth Nelson, the daughter of John and Karen (Lynd) Rapp was born June 1, 1925 on a farm near Hutchins. She attended school at Britt and in 1940, moved with her family to Garner. She worked at Hull's Cafe for several years. She married Don Reinig and to this union, eight children were born. They lived in Des Moines and Garner. On July 23, 1974, she was married to Alvin Nelson in Tempe, Ariz. They made their home in Tempe until retirement in 1980, when they moved to Des Moines and in 1993 to Klemme.

June was a homemaker and a day care provider. She died Friday, April 17, at the Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City after a short illness. June thoroughly loved her husband, children and family, which she centered her life around. She enjoyed growing tomatoes for her brother, Raymond "Raymer" and traveling including annual Navy reunions and visiting casinos throughout the country. She was baptized, confirmed and married in the Catholic faith.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin of Klemme; her children, Larry Reinig and his wife, Triza, of Des Moines, Linda Wastier and husband, Rollo, of Mason City, Patty Schmidt and husband, Dick, of Des Moines, Cathy Schroeder and husband, Steve, of Des Moines, Cindy Henderson, of Des Moines, Paula Johnson and her husband, Duane, of Clive; stepchildren, David Nelson and his wife, Laurie, of Bellville, Ill., Michael Nelson and wife, Delores, of Fertile, Kathy Wessels and husband, Bob, of Belmond, and Bill Nelson, of Spencer; 40 grandchildren; 39 greatgrandchildren; four sisters, Mildred Hernon and husband, Jack, of Clear Lake, Alice Rayhons, and husband, Leonard, of Garner, Shirley Netland, of Garner and Bonnie Ruppert and husband, Bud, of Northwood; two brothers, Raymond Rapp and his wife, Dorothy, of Forest City, and Jack Rapp and his wife, Roz, of Caney, Kan.; sisters-in-law, Esther Rapp, of Garner, Pauline Rapp, of Renwick, and Cynthia Rapp, of Bronson, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Sandra Brown in 1993 and Ginger Lazdins in 1996; twin grandsons; a greatgranddaughter, Stephanie Brown; a stepson, Steven Nelson, in infancy; four brothers, Harold, Dale, Calvin and Milbern Rapp; six sisters, Arlis Gilles, Thelma Price, Elvera Welfing, Mavis Hiscocks, Evelyn Hanson and Wanda Rapp in infancy.
